About Dr. Hughes
Family medicine specialist Bruce Hughes, MD, at The Art of Medicine Direct, PLLC, brings quality medical care in a unique way to Charlotte, North Carolina. Believing that health care has been compromised by the current environment, Dr. Hughes opened a new practice and switched to direct primary care, which allows men and women to access their doctors for set fees rather than dealing with confusing insurance plans and billing issues.
He founded The Art of Medicine Direct, PLLC, in 2016, drawing from his experience as a board-certified family physician since 1991 at his former office, University Family Physicians, also located in Charlotte. Representing a wide range of interests, Dr. Hughes has an undergraduate degree in Germanic language and literature, a medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and is a self-taught artist whose works have been exhibited in an art gallery in Charleston, South Carolina. Currently, you can see his paintings beautifying the office of the Art of Medicine Direct, PLLC.
